Celebrating Americana with Woolrich Black Label

I'm not even going to lie - there's a part of me that, sometimes, really wants to be able to pull of some incarnation of preppy, but I'm just not very capable of pulling off wasp. Except, maybe I have found a way? And maybe that way is via the Paula Gerbase designed Fall Winter collection from Woolrich? The presentation for the FW11 collection, held at Eyebeam Studios in Chelsea, was in a dark, almost sultry space - with an ethereal, almost-holographic screen splitting the room in half. Woolrich has a really incredible heritage, and I think Gerbase's direction definitely honors the brand's classic American history, with contemporary twists and embellishments that take this look out of the country club. It's just dark enough that I can see myself wearing a lot of it.
