Chanel | 31 Rue Cambon Magazine

Last year when a copy of Chanel's 31 Rue Cambon magazine landed in my hands, I shared it with you all - and it seemed only right to do the same when the Fall-Winter 2011 Edition found its way into my mailbox. Once again, it is filled with gorgeous photography, behind-the-scenes stills, a small peek into Lagerfeld's thought process and creative genius, and even a recap of the traveling Zaha Hadid installation, that will find its permanent home in Paris later this year. It's really an all-encompassing look at the major happenings within the house of Chanel this year, from it's collaborations with Colette to its beauty innovations to runway collections. Though there's a bit of unfortunate (though seemingly intentionally stretched) typography throughout the magazine, it's once again full of eye-candy, and a great translation of luxury experience in print media.

Brilliant captures from the Fall-Winter 2011 Show, a post-apocalyptic landscape with blurred gender roles and rampant androgyny. I really, really loved this collection. Photos by Kacper Kasprzyk.

I'm forever a lover of fashion illustrations, so how can I not swoon over these drawings by Karl Lagerfeld?
New this year, Chanel celebrates Rouge Coco Shine. Photography by Richard Burbridge.
Stills from Karl Lagerfeld's short film "Evanescent Metamorphoses," which plays on the ambiguity of the masculine and feminine, (a subject matter near and dear to my heart).  View the film, shot and directed by Lagerfeld, here.
The Paris-Byzance collection. The highlight of this collection, to me, was the gorgeous byzantine inspired details and jewelry, (beautifully photographed above by Benoit Peverelli). As Lagerfeld notes, "Women were very important in Byzantium. The women led." Inspiration drawn from strong females is certainly not something I can argue with!
