doting over kittens and swallows

Like practically every fashion-loving, day-dreaming girl of the post Virgin Suicide's Sofia Coppola generation, I've been calculating and fantasizing over Miu Miu's spring 2010 collection, and I have been doing so since the runway show last fall. It's whimsical and fanciful and yet sophisticated, but not so overtly as to be taken too seriously. A sense of playfulness and cute is so crucial in small doses, especially amid a wardrobe taken over by severity and blacks and greys.

And now, the spring 2010 campaign. How long until I can get my hands on those ridiculous kitty-printed platforms? (Read: how long until my tax refund check arrives in my mailbox so I can hastily run to soho and make unreasonable decisions?)

A full four-years later, I'm still in love with my Spring 2006 silver and gold glitter covered heels patent heels, pulling them out of their somehow still pristine pink box for special occasions. A doubt I'll regret any decisions this spring, either.

UPDATE: i stopped into the soho tonight and they are only getting the floral pair of platforms. head elsewhere if you need these as badly as i do. or don't head anywhere. i'd be very happy to have less competition in this hunt.
