On Saturday morning I woke up to one of the best text messages ever from Peppi: Want to go see Robyn tonight? Just got confirmation that your name is on the guest list!
I was completely surprised by the unexpected invitation, and gave her an enthusiastic YES. Mid-1990's Swedish pop stars that had an enormous comeback filled with dance-y gay-bar-worthy hits? Yes, please, always. Blast from the past: Show me Love came out in 1997. When I was in the 6th grade.
Robyn was AMAZING. She has such an incredible energy and really has a great stage presence. Love love love. She even closed out the show with a rendition of Abba's Dancing Queen leading into Show me Love!
After the concert, Peppi, Rachel and I went for a midnight snack at a Japanese izakaya in Midtown. We shared a bottle of sake and I had a yummy tofu hot pot.
