Jimbaran & a Perfect Sunset

One of my absolute favorite experiences in Bali has to have been visiting Jimbaran, and having barbecue while watching the most incredible sunset I've ever seen in my life. Jimbaran is a small fishing village along the coast, and their beachfront is littered with dozens of restaurants (while they all look relatively the same, each has its own nuance, usually in the form of entertainment), with live bands and the freshest Balinese seafood. It's really special to be surrounded by locals and people from across the globe sharing the same experience. There are no menus to look at - just a selection of the areas best prawns, lobsters, crab, and fish to be grilled upon ordering.

On the beach you can also buy grilled corn, jagung bakar, for 10,000 rupiah (about $1). Honestly, this is one of the best things I ate in Bali! It had a subtle sweetness to it, and was so fresh and hot off the grill that I would've been happy eating just that for the rest of my trip.

And of course, the pièce de résistance - the spontaneous fireworks show, using fireworks bought on the beach. A perfect way to finish off an incredible meal couples with a gorgeous view.
