luella bartley, spring 2010

luella is consistently one of my favorite collections out of london fashion week, always, and even though her spring 2010 collection has taken a departure from her usually edgier, darker, mix & match aesthetic, i still absolutely adore it. the jump from her usual also allowed for more experimentation with her silhouettes, playing heavily with volume.

it's like the perfect set of clothes for a spring afternoon spent in the met, followed by a picnic in central park, and then a long evening stroll down fifth avenue. it's 1960's twiggy, meets holly golightly, meets nicolette mason (minus the monotone) - and i love it.

and the little black dress with the heart cut-out? brilliant. i'm all a-flutter over it.

and sorry to be so predictable, but yeah- as always, i'm a sucker for bows, hearts, and peter pan collars. i can't be blamed for being a girl that knows what she likes!
