The Best Priced Secret

It hasn't started to feel like "the holidays" for me yet, even though Hanukkah has come and gone and Christmas and New Years are just around the corner. I don't know if it's because I'm now working in the retail world which never, ever stops and rather than a holiday "slow down" there's a huge ramp up, or if it's been the unseasonably warm temps on both coasts (it's over 50-degrees in NY today!), but regardless: I'm still reveling in dressing like it's the holidays, because that's a thing that brings me an absurd amount of joy.One of the places I love to get deals on great holiday pieces and sparkle is Lord & Taylor. Lord & Taylor holds a special place in my heart because they were the first US department store to carry clothes I designed, from my collaboration with Addition Elle! They're also, in my opinion, one of the best kept secrets of physical department stores where you can buy plus-size pieces in NYC. When I found the (brand new, current season!) red jacket I've been lusting after at a fraction of the retail price - I was SO excited. Red isn't my usual go-to color, but it's one I've been enamored with lately. Don't be caught off guard if you see me in an all-red monochrome look, soon, too. I thought it would perfectly complement these rainbow striped pieces by Rachel Rachel Roy -- a skirt and sweater co-ord set that can be worn together or separately, with a wallet-happy price tag right now; it's less than 50% of the original price. The Rachel Zoe platform heels are also marked down nearly 70%. You're going to have to take my word for it that these pieces are even more gorgeous in person... There's a subtle glitter stripe mixed in that really comes to life IRL.It might still not feel like the holidays, but at least I know I can dress like it is.
