Weekend Warrior

For the first time since we drove cross country and I hopped on my one-way-flight back to New York City, I'm heading down to New Orleans (today!!!) to visit my much better half. Despite how often I travel, I've never quite mastered the art of packing light, but determined to get through my 5-day trip with a single carry-on bag, I'm putting myself to the test. Continue...While my mom always makes a point to nag me about getting a carry-on bag with wheels, I'm a devotee to my rotating cast of carry-on totes, with the Jeremy Scott x Longchamp SS14 bag as my newest darling. 

{The Clothing Situation}

I've already admitted to my rampant indiscretions as a Repeat Outfit Offender (I know, I know - "but you work in fashion!"); no matter the length of the trip, I always end up packing a suitcase full of clothes that seldom make their way out of my luggage. This weekend will be different. I think. Or maybe this will completely backfire and I'll be forced to run to a mall. I'm packing just the basics - these jeans, a couple of tees, a dress for a "nicer" outing, the outfit I'm traveling in, and a handful of punchy accessories to jazz up my simple outfits. 

{The Beauty Situation}

I was smart on the toiletries front by buying a set of most of my toiletries that would stay in New Orleans - meaning I don't have to lug shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, etc. with me each time I travel down for a visit. But, there are the products I can't live without - like my Clarisonic, Somme Institute Products (my favorite all-encompassing skincare line), and my hair first aid kit of dry-shampoo and hairspray from Drybar. A beauty palette means that alongside my essentials (mascara, lipstick, concealer), I can also punch up my looks big time from day-to-night.

{The Tech Situation}

On-the-go blogger/social media junkie/etc that I am, I'd be amiss not to include a few of my favorite gadgets in my carry-on. My iPhone, FRENDS Headphones, and Polaroid digi-cam (it prints Polaroids, too). My laptop will be a last minute addition to the bag, too.
