Desperately Searching for Spring | The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
The bout of sunshine and highly desired warm weather last Friday made me excited beyond words - to the point that I (over-zealously) tried to force myself outside for the remainder of the subsequent weekend, (never mind that temperatures dropped about 30 degrees from one day to the next). On Sunday, I headed south to Other-Brooklyn (I say this fondly as a resident of Williamsburg) with my friends Emma & Basha to brunch at Tom's and a walk through the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. BBG is one of my favorite places in New York City, and even though there was little in bloom, it was still a beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Emma checking out the awesome Patrick Dougherty Installation. Think Spike Jonze's "Where The Wild Things Are"
DIY-ed Half Moon Manicure (Chanel Nuit de Russie & Gold Lamé), Sunglasses: Miu Miu, Top: Topshop, Scarf: from Bali, Skirt: American Apparel, Grey Coat: Courtesy of Evans, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell via Solestruck
And Listen: I KNOW animal print + polka dots just does not work (at least in this case) but it was cold and I grabbed the scarf as I was running out the door... It is what it is!
Emma & Basha. Super cuties.
Final Destination: The Japanese Gardens and Koi Pond.

Even though getting to the gardens can be a bit of a hike, the experience once you're there is well, well worth the journey. I can't wait until the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) festival next month!
