Calexico | A Little Mexican in Little Poland

There's a substantial crop of new restaurants in Williamsburg and Greenpoint that have been sprouting up these past few months, and slowly but surely, I'm getting around to trying as many as I can (which, trust me, is sort of difficult). On the top of my list was Calexico, a new location of the taco and burrito cart (usually) stationed in Soho. Being a California native, finding "good Mexican" is a bit of a holy grail. Californians (and Texans, I hear) can be really elitist about their taco/guac outposts. I'm not even going to try to say Calexico is authentic because, well, it's not. But, honestly? I'm not sure I care! Their fish taco is incredible: fresh beer-battered cod, mango, radishes, peppers, homemade chipotle "crack sauce," drizzled with a little lime... HEAVEN. Two tacos at $4 a piece made the perfect lunch. And it doesn't hurt that the space is cute!
