In a New York Minute
With my lovely friend Briony in town, I've had a bit of an opportunity to play the part of a tourist in my own town: lunching at Fred's at Barneys (amongst more than a handful of real ladies who lunch, gallivanting along the edge of Central Park, fawning over the private courtyard and garden at The Frick, lusting over all of the beautiful things in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman and Agent Provocateur and Céline and Valentino, and picking up too-many-macarons which we later shared over tea at home... I really, really treasure living in this city. Really.
What things do you do in your hometown when people come to visit? Are there famed attractions you've never even bothered with? Confession: I've never been to the Empire State Building, or the Chrysler, or taken the Staten Island Ferry to catch a view of the southern tip of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty...
