{LIFESTYLE} From Coast to Coast
I don't know how to say this in a way that doesn't come off as bragging when I'm honestly just tremendously grateful - but I'm so happy I've had the opportunity to live on both coasts and get the best of both worlds in my life right now. It has been pretty incredible to get the energy, buzz, and enjoy the company of my friends in New York City - and then come back to Los Angeles for great weather, family time, and an endless supply of avocados, (I'm very passionate about avocados). Of course, it hasn't been without its stressers (finding a place to live and a way to get around, while I'm also planning a wedding, starting a new business, and working on about a dozen consulting projects on top of my blogging duties and contributing to Marie Claire -- whoa), but man, do I feel lucky right now. It's definitely going to take a lot of adjusting when it comes to my lifestyle, but the weather alone and proximity to my family makes this all so worth it for me!
Also, I mentioned at the beginning of the year (how is it already February?), that I've been experimenting more with my style - and I wasn't kidding! Distressed denim and monochromatic shift dresses have become a huge part of my uniform in California. Of course, with a trip back to NYC at the end of the week for the start of NYFW, I'm also excited to bundle up, layer, and slip on my trusty black tights. It's funny how that works; normally by now I'd be exhausted of wearing the same winter-grade parka and opaque black tights everywhere, but with a little break from it all... I'm actually looking forward to it; this feels nice.
