Listography, Fall 2009

Your SPRING is my FALL

Twilight bike rides. Evening bike rides. Sunday morning bike rides.

Early Saturday mornings at the Farmer’s Market. Stock up on fresh fruits, vegetables, and baked goods for the week.

Use aforementioned supply of produce to host intimate dinner parties with good friends.

Museum Sundays.

Learn the art of crafting the perfect macaron. If perfection is not attainable, settle for mediocrity; a mediocre macaron should still be delicious.

Embrace old-school paths to femininity: back-seamed stockings, red lipstick, heels.

Continue developing my self-initiated design portfolio.

Make my new apartment my new home. (Source the perfect paint, the perfect drawer liners, the perfect floor mirror, the perfect area rug, the perfect dresser; becoming the young, queer martha stewart is still within reach).

More femme friend dates. Solidarity in numbers.

Officially begin hosting the queer book club. Use book club as an excuse to curl up in bed with a steaming pot of tea, a kitten, and a book.

Waste less; reduce carbon footprint.

Explore all the different enclaves of Brooklyn.

Organize, organize, organize: everything in its right place. (Books: grouped by genre, alphabetized by author).

Relearn reading sheet music, (reminder: once upon a time, you were great at this. get great at it, again). Relearn guitar. Acquire that beautiful hollow-bodied ivory Gretsch (unrealistic) or similar by Ibanez (realistic).

Events to look forward to:
1. My housewarming
2. MoMA’s Spike Jonze retrospective
3. CMJ Music Festival
4. The release of Whip It!
5. New York Burlesque Festival
6. The Gossip with Men at Terminal 5
7. Where The Wild Things Are
8. David Chang’s Momofuku Cookbook
9. Halloween (expect big hair, big curves)
10. Mini-trip to Los Angeles
(ETA)
11. Peaches at Terminal 5
