Mermaid Parade

Yesterday was the 27th annual Mermaid Parade at Coney Island. I went out with a few friends to watch the antique cars and hundreds of people dressed up in sea inspired costumes - mermaids and jellyfish and crustaceans, oh my! I love the artistry and creativity that went into so many of the costumes. Not to mention, the 1950's retro touches (my own outfit also inspired by that period), burlesque lovelies, and real-life pin up girls are just my cup of (iced) tea. Summer is officially here.

 

PS. While I'm here, I'd like to take the opportunity to wish all the daddies out there a happy fathers day. I know my Dad occasionally reads my blog, so I'll use this as a chance to let you all know I have the BEST Dad in the world. Truly.
