The National.

Last night, I had the pleasure of going out with one of my favorite people to a new (to me) restaurant on the Lower East Side: The National. The National is on Rivington Street (next to Freeman's), and boasts a wall of antique mirrors, delicious seasonal food and specialty cocktails.

Arugula salad with ricotta and fennel; Chilled beet soup with sour cream
Maine lobster roll with french fries; Pan seared steak
I'm not big on french fries, but these were some of the best fries I've ever had!
The decor was extremely cute and the meal was lovely. I'd highly recommend the lobster roll. It was fresh, light - perfect for a summer evening.

P.S. to people who frequent my blog, you may have noticed that I've added a quasi shop. Let me know what you think or what kind of things you'd like to see up there! The theme is, of course, "my favorite things."
