{STYLE} Just Try it On
I have swooned, and swooned, and swooned over Clover Canyon ever since my friend Amy Keller introduced me to the Los Angeles-based line. I'm not the type to go gaga over prints, but there's something so intoxicating about the use of color and graphics and softly-structured neoprene that has had me obsessing over virtually everything made by the (more accessible) double-C's. Their NYFW presentations have been consistently full of surprise and splendor, and I'm excited to see what's in store for their fall collection at this season's presentation later this week.
Though I'm always preaching about the "JUST TRY IT ON" approach to fashion, I felt just a little intimidated by taking on this still-fairly-new line and its limited XS - L size run. Bless Amazon Prime + Shopbop's supremely amazing customer service, but suddenly last week I felt it was time to test out my admiration in real life. The moment the package arrived at my door, I slipped the skirt on and twirled around like a little girl who has just discovered the movement of her clothes for the first time. It's not meant to work, but when it does - it's oh, so sweet. Ah, L, sometimes you really surprise me. And -- that 5% spandex (or elastane, as it may be) is occasionally life-changing.
