Each year, I look forward to kate spade new york's holiday party as a kick-off to the holiday season - and for a major dose of hostess inspiration (especially as I gear up to host my own holiday party in LA in a few weeks). Appropriately, it was also the celebration of their new book - all in good taste, with hostessing tips, food & cocktail recipes, and a little bit of party going-and-throwing etiquette but with a sense of humor. It was the perfect occasion to wear this colorblock dress (which, like much of the current collection, I fell in love with at their NYFW presentation last February). I'm sure I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but there are moments I really feel like specific collections are made for me, and this one in particular has been getting a bit of space in my wardrobe.The party was - as expected - stunning. We feted on the rooftop of the NoMad hotel, with the Empire State Building hovering over us, and flowers flowing from each end of the table. Each seat had its own massive gift box, with personalized contents (mind included this very holiday ready clutch and these leather gloves - which, btw, are sized!), and there was a gifting suite where we could pick gifts for another person (I'm dying for them to receive their gift!)I really, really love the holiday season and am now anxiously awaiting the rollout of holiday windows in New York City - plus all the festivities that are sure to unfold between now and the New Year. It's kind of amazing and absurd that we're already well into November, but I'm definitely pleased that there will be plenty of occasions to wear my new holiday dresses (and this gift box clutch!) {SHOP THE POST}
