Extra, Extra! Read All About It

When emerging designer Carrie Hammer reached out to me to be part of her Kickstarter Campaign, to help fund the launch of her bespoke clothing line catering to women of all sizes (with a standard 0-20 and even more customization options), she was tugging at a place very close to my heart - so of course, I obliged. My friends Alicia, Kim, Christina, and Jenni were also on board, so I knew I was in good company. With so few designers, especially young independent designers, making their wares available and accessible to a diverse group of bodies, I really get excited and enthusiastic about anyone who jumps on board the mission. I think it's so important that fashion holds a place for all kinds of bodies - not just the narrow scope of what is considered the ideal. So, of course, Carrie Hammer's mission to create clothes for a professional woman, regardless of her size, is something that resonates deeply with me. Continue...
