Shop with Purpose

As many of you know, I visited Rwanda several months ago (much more on this very, very soon) with my friends from kate spade new york to learn about their on purpose program, collection, and the individuals who make it all possible. Learning about the ways that kate spade empowers the individuals who work at ADC in Masoro, Rwanda, and works with the broader community, had a life-changing impact on the way I view the fashion industry and the intention I want to set in my own work in fashion. This weekend, kate spade is hosting its "shop with purpose" event - which helps fund and support the creation of a new health clinic in Masoro, directly impacting the community where ADC's 150 employees (98% of whom are women and the primary earner's in their families) live and work.Since Masoro's previous health clinic was tragically struck by lightning, kate spade has partnered with the not-for-profit organization GAC to rebuild a new, sustainable, health clinic and community center. With a goal of raising $120,000 to help rebuild the clinic, the sale comes with a perk for you: 25% off sitewide (with the code PURPOSE) and in stores, as well!
