London Calling

It's funny, you never plan a trip to London and look forward to the weather, but I've been so fatigued by the freezing, perpetually snowy winter we've had in New York, that the damp, grey London weather (punctuated by entire days of sunshine), actually felt like an enormous breath of fresh air and a peek into the spring season blooming around the corner. I hadn't left the Northeast since Halloween, so my need for an escape was long overdue.

I spent the first few days of my trip with Navabi's Style Council, discussing the future of the brand (there are big changes coming, and it's refreshing to hear a brand know that they have a long way to go until they're "there" with fashion), attending BPSFW, and exploring the charms of West London - with the following week devoted to the more-at-home-feeling bustle of East London with Ali (and a day trip to Cambridge to see Briony, wedged right in the middle). Consider this a sort of teaser, as I wrap my head around the 10-days of total adventure I experienced in my other-other-hometown. Is it possible to feel homesick for a place that you never actually lived? Because I'm positive that I sort of do.

PS: If you're dealing with a bit of a shopping bug, Shopbop is currently hosting their seasonal sale - with up to 30% current-season stock with code BIGEVENT14.
